Signing Off….!

After 40 years service, today marks the end of my teaching career. I have nothing but fond memories of a career that has enabled me to work in an area (Physical Education) and a field (Primary Education), that I have thoroughly enjoyed. It has been a most rewarding experience, to be involved in the teaching profession, where you can make a difference in the lives of our children in so many ways. The Syndal South community has always inspired me to want to be more involved than just turning up each day. It is the community support, made up of the students, parents & teachers that make coming to work more than just a job. It has been a privilege & pleasure to have shared the journey with you all.

Go Deano!

Australia will have representation in curling at the Winter Olympics for the very first time in Beijing.
Former SSPS student, Dean Hewitt and Tahli Gill won all seven of their matches at the qualification tournament in The Netherlands
Australia has never qualified for the curling event at a Winter Olympics
Mixed doubles is making its second appearance at an Olympic Games in Beijing
Dean and Tahli earned Australia’s first quota spot in the mixed doubles at this week’s Olympic qualification event in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands overnight.
3 Olympians from SSPS in one year is pretty cool!

The ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Racquet Roadshow celebrated a major milestone today, with the 200,000th racquet presented at Syndal South Primary School by 22-time Grand Slam champion Todd Woodbridge.
40 prep students then hit the courts for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a training session with the tennis legend.
