SDSSA Summer Sport Round Robin

CONGRATULATIONS to all our Year 6 students who performed sensationally today, not only on but also off the field to bring home the runners up pennant in the SDSSA Annual Summer Sport Round Robin held at Ashwood. Competing in games of Cricket, Softball, Tee Ball, Tennis & Rounders, our students were up for the challenge, as they displayed not only their sporting prowess, but also great sportsmanship and respect for the opposition.

Go Syndal!

Ride/Walk2School

As a registered member of Bicycle Victoria’s Ride2School program, we encourage our students to get physically active on their journey to school. Over the past 40 years, the number of children who are physically active everyday, has dropped significantly. In the 1970’s, 8 out of 10 students rode or walked to school, but today that number has dropped to just 2 out of 10. Students who ride or walk to school contribute to their minimum physical activity level of 60 minutes per day. They are also more focused and ready to learn. In an attempt to encourage all our students to become more active, Ms Ross has helped me to create a live spread sheet, that you can add to each time you ride or walk to school. She has even created a QR Code Reader for those of us who are tech savy. All you need to do is to get mum or dad help you to log on to the following link and register your name & off we go. QR codes will be available at all or our main entrances. Spot prizes will be awarded along with achievement certificates as milestones are reached. Got to be in it to win it!
