SSPS Sports Awards 2015
Congratulations
To Amy and Angus on winning the RH Sports Award for 2015.
The award is presented to students whom we consider have achieved significant performances in the sporting programs that we run here at SSPS. Other criteria include sportsmanship, fair play, leadership and attitude towards their sport.
SSV Medal
And Congratulations also to Breanna on receiving the SSV Medal for Academic and Sporting Achievement. Her citation reads;
The highlight of Brianna’s sporting year has been selection for the SSV U12 Girls’ Softball Team, however she has also been an active member of other school teams in several sports, such as netball and basketball where she has represented Syndal South PS at both District and Divisional level. Brianna was also a valued member of the school Aerobics squad and recently won a gold medal at the National Schoolaerobics Championships. She is a student who displays outstanding teamwork, has a great understanding of her fellow students whom she encourages and supports as required.
As Music Captain, Brianna displays outstanding leadership qualities. She is of great help to the Music teacher in setting up for weekly Year 5/6 choir sessions, and preparing the Music Room for classes. She is achieving well academically in both English and Mathematics. She has great speaking and listening skills and makes valuable contributions to Socratic Seminars. Inquiry shows Brianna’s ability to direct her own learning and connect this learning to the wider world. She always shows commitment to all learning tasks and aims to produce work of a high standard.

SDSSA Community Links Sports Day
450 year 6 students from 11 schools participated in the SDSSA Community links sports day held at Wesley College last week. The students rotated through 6 of 22 sports which included bubble soccer, sailing, fencing, baseball, bowls, table tennis, hockey, orienteering, basketball, soccer, softball, tennis, martial arts, yoga, dance, frisbee, games, golf, squash, rugby, football and cricket.
